Gourmet Expansion Plans Underway

Hey sports fans, we've got great news! Plans are being drawn up as we write this story to expand the Gourmet Sound facilities to include a drum room. The proposed addition will make Gourmet a full service facility capable of taking your project on from beginning to end. The design on the drawingboard right now consists of a 440 square foot room with 10 foot ceilings. It'll sound huge! Ground breaking on the project is tentatively scheduled for mid-August so check back for more updates as the project moves along.

The Early Strike

San Antonio pop-punksters The Early Strike have booked into Gourmet Sound to record a full length with producer Steve Kravac. The band will be tracking and mixing during July and August. This will be the bands first album, and pay attention labels because these guys aren't signed yet!!!

The band has been touring regionally and nationally, getting a lot of attention and building a solid fan base. Check them out on their my space page at www.myspace.com/theearlystrike where their tunes have already received (get this) over 150,000 plays!!!!

New Gourmet Engineer Arrives!

Gourmet Sound is proud to announce a new addition to the team. Noted Los Angeles engineer Josh Achziger has joined forces with Greg and Steve, and is now available to track and/or mix your next project. Josh has worked with a number of seasoned acts and has always imparted his own style and tone to each project while always respecting the artists vision. Check out his discography here and book a session with him by emailing us at info@gourmetsound.net

New Soundcraft Ghost and Digidesign Arrivals at Gourmet

More good news on the technical front, Gourmet Sound recently took delivery of a new Soundcraft Ghost 24 channel mixing desk, as well as two additional Digi Design 888/24 analog to digital converters. What does this all mean you ask? This means that we are no longer limited to mixing inside the Pro-Tools system but can now mix from 24 discreet outputs from Pro-tools into the desk. Results are: more eq. control and better stereo imaging, as well as the benefits of real time back-bussing. The issues of lack of headroom and poor resolution in Pro-Tools mixing are a thing of the past at Gourmet. There are plans to add the ghost extender onto this console in the future bringing mixing to a full 48 fader package. Sweet!

Former Replacement Tommy Stinson records at Gourmet Sound

We just had the pleasure of working with former Replacement and Guns and Roses bassist Tommy Stinson. He dropped in to cut bass on ten songs for L.A. scenester Loomis. Also contributing to the project are Josh Freese (Vandals) and Greg Hetson (Bad Religion, Circle Jerks) If we had to tag a sound on this record we would have to say Leonard Cohen fronting the Velvet Underground....very interesting!!!
