Our little baby has grown up, Gourmet Sound the project studio created by punk legend Greg Hetson (Bad Religion, Circle Jerks) and producer Steve Kravac (MXPX, Less Than Jake, Pepper) has gone public. After using the studio since 2005 as a private facility, 2009 marks the debut of a new option for bands and musicians, one that is affordable and where finished product sounds amazing! Welcome one and all, we look forward to serving you.
Gourmet Sound has just completed a huge purchase that is going to make life better immediately. We have taken delivery of a brand new Digidesign Pro Tools 8 HD3 Accel rig and a new Mac Pro computer. Our digital workstation is now cutting edge and this means easy transitions from other rooms when you book Gourmet for Mixing or Overdubbing. It also means lightning speed and 128 tracks of audio at any given time... awesome!
Well this is probably one of the most exciting purchases we have ever made. Gourmet has just thrown down for a vintage Neumann U67 tube microphone. It is in great shape, and more importantly sounds absolutely huge. We have had the mic authenticated by our friend Charlie Bolois (Beck and Tom Petty's tech) at Vertigo Recording Services, and it's all original including the power supply. This is going to take vocals and overdubs of all sorts to the ultimate level! How excited are we about this addition? Enough to give the mic it's own page at our website! Special thanks to Ryan McGuire at Vintage King Audio in Detroit for helping us find the right transducer to make your recording dreams come true. We are very grateful for his help on this purchase so chalk up another one for the Motor City!
